Dear Editor,
For some, moving is a natural part of life, however moving provinces for the first time can be a very nerve-racking and humbling experience.
There is so much to do and so many unknowns when selling your home of many years to relocate to a new province, new town/city and a new house, hoping that you make all the right choices. For us, I’m sure we did just that.
It wasn’t a quick decision at all; in fact, we started the journey two-and-a-half years ago while vacationing in Alberta. During that vacation, we made a couple of trips to Okotoks and were amazed by how truly nice people were.
We decided to look at some local real estate which is when we met Robyn Schidlowsky, who is by far the kindest, most patient and understanding real estate agent we’ve ever dealt with. He wasn’t just in it for a quick sale, he was in it to build the experience in what small town (city) would look like in Okotoks for us.
We met Adam Mansbridge, our mortgage broker, another incredibly kind, intelligent and very patient person, that put all our worries and concerns at ease.
They are two perfect examples of the kindness we’ve received along our journey.
I can now proudly say we are part of the Okotoks community and as absolutely no surprise, we’ve received some of the warmest welcomes, which were all very much appreciated.
If I could give others a pinch of advice it would be to align yourself with a great and rooted team as their knowledge is gold. As well, keep all your past files on computer (hard copies get packed and tend to follow you at a later date) and connect with your local recreation centre as soon as you can as it offers a wealth of resources.
