I hope you all enjoyed Pancake Tuesday. Can you believe 40 days to Easter?
Speaking of Easter, our annual Easter dinner and silent auction will be on March 17, so it’s not too early to start dropping off your silent auction donations.
Get well wishes to Isobel Leman, who has broken her arm. It sure puts a crimp on playing bridge. Does anyone have a card holder they would be willing to lend us?
Eli Barsi and Doris Daley will be performing at the Red Deer Lake United Church on May 10. Tickets are $20 (call 403-256-3181). If we have enough interest, we could get a bus. Otherwise, we will probably carpool.
We have purchased 16 tickets for Stage West on March 6. There is a sign up sheet on the board. We can get additional tickets if needed. Your money ($50) should be in to Mary-Anne Smith by Feb. 22. The bus will pick us up at VNC at 5 p.m. on March 6. Don’t forget your twoonie for the driver.
Congratulations to Thomas Williams and his skating partner, Nicole Orford, on their bronze medal win in Mississauga on Jan. 20. We have watched this young man continue to shine for several years. We are all very proud of you Thomas.
Don’t forget Valentine’s Day is tomorrow. Guys like candy and flowers too, ladies.
Congratulations to Russell Manchester on his 90th birthday… and still dancing.
