Family-friendly festivities to follow Diamond Valley parade

An outdoor market at Millennium Park during Diamond Valley Day in Diamond Valley on June 3, 2023.

The fun isn't over in Diamond Valley after the parade.

There will be numerous activities happening on Saturday, June 1 for Diamond Valley Discovery Day following the 56th annual parade.

The Discovery Day artisan market is taking place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Millennium Park, with vendors selling crafts, handmade goods and more.

Millennium Park will also have bouncy houses and other inflatable games, a petting zoo, face painting, live music and activities with the Diamond Valley Fire Department.

Two annual Turner Valley events, the Sheep Creek Arts Council Bake Sale at the Valley Neighbours Club and the Sheep River Library annual used book sale, are happening from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Diamond Valley Quilters, a group of charity quilters that has been around for over 10 years, will also be at the Valley Neighbours Club for a quilt show from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Last fall, the group donated 14 quilts to Rowan House Society and 50 Christmas placemats to Seasons High River. This summer, the group will be sending 12 quilts to the SHARP Foundation in Calgary.

Market vendor applications are closed, but the parade is still accepting float registrations and volunteers.
