UPDATE: Grass fire caused by youth, says Diamond Valley Fire

Diamond Valley Fire Rescue announced that a grass fire in Diamond Valley on June 7 was caused by youth.

The fire was reported at approximately 4:15 p.m. on the western edge of Turner Valley.

According to the statement, the RCMP has located the children believed to have caused the fire and is currently investigating further.

Multiple crews were on-scene, and initial reports indicated that a vehicle was on fire.

The fire, near Robert Street NW, was stated to be the second in two days to be caused by the actions of youth. Parents are asked to ensure that their children do not take part in activities with the potential to start a fire.
