Attache Stables is a show jumping facility located in Calgary, Alberta. Our stable is a world class training and equestrian center that features both indoor and outdoor riding arenas and lodges up to 30 horses. The Horse Stable Foreman is primarily responsible for managing and overseeing the day-to-day operations of our world class equestrian stable that houses high performance equestrian athletes including potential Canadian team athletes. This position also involves the following duties and responsibilities:
• Co-ordinate all aspects of care specific to each equine athlete and in accordance with FEI rules and regulations.
• Communicate with Veterinarians, Farriers and Therapists and oversee administration of medication and other therapy as required.
• Design nutrition, weight management and exercise programs suitable for high performance equestrian athletes.
• Maintain all required records
• Arrange for transport of equine athletes to international shows, including arrangements for any quarantine required.
• Direct and oversee grooming and hoof care management programs
• Determine staffing requirements, hire, train and supervise staff and grooms
Several years of relevant work experience are required as outlined below:
• Proven experience managing an international show jumping stable caring for high performance equestrian athletes
• Extensive knowledge of FEI rules and regulations with regard to all aspects of elite international competition
• Experience administering veterinarian and non-veterinarian prescribed treatments, medication and therapies
• Knowledge of quarantine requirements for mares, stallions and geldings in worldwide venues in accordance with FEI regulations
• Knowledge of permitted and banned medications pursuant to FEI regulations and elite international competition standards
• Proven ability to determine procedures for safe practices in all aspects of high-performance equestrian athlete management to ensure health and safety of horses and employees
• Ability to travel to the United States and internationally preferred
• Valid Drivers' license
• Ability to develop and implement farm safety and bio-security procedures
• Must speak English

Competitive salary ($30.00-$40.00 per hour) depending on level of experience and qualifications, and potential for annual merit increase or performance pay rise.
