We are seeking a Test Engineer. Reporting to the Test Engineering Manager, the Test Engineer is responsible for designing and implementing tests to assess the quality and functionality of the solar PV cells and modules. The Test Engineer is expected to exercise a high level of confidentiality on company information, provide leadership and guidance to engineering technicians, and observe safety & 5S practices. Travel to other Heliene facilities as needed.


Key Responsibilities:
- Definition of scope and objectives of the testing activities, development of test plans and strategies, generation of test protocols relating to solar PV cells and modules and develop steps for their execution
- Generate risk analysis, work instructions, and test procedures
- Generate detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured presentations and reports to engineering and management team
- Failure analysis of solar PV modules
- Conduct data analysis from tests of prototypes/samples and current products
- Identify potential risks and provide mitigation strategies
- Perform finite element modelling and analysis
- Generate engineering drawings
- Supervise engineering technicians
- Ensure that the test environment is well maintained and compliance to industry’s safety standards


Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor of science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field. Five years’ experience in high volume manufacturing or testing laboratory setting, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience required.
- Experience in the solar industry is considered an asset
- Hands-on experience of using testing tools and equipment’s
- Deep knowledge of solar PV test standards (e.g. UL, IEC)
- Advanced knowledge on testing techniques
- Extensive background on failure analysis
- Excellent attention to details
- Great problem-solving skills for determining solutions when issues arise
- Strong presentation and communication skills, capable of working well with cross functional teams, and can interface effectively with all levels of the organization
- Capable of planning, organizing, prioritizing, and controlling multiple simultaneous projects
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
- Hands-on experience on 3D modelling, drawing generation, finite element modelling and analysis using computer aided design software like Solidworks, Autodesk Fusion, Ansys, etc.
- Understanding of geometric tolerancing and dimensioning
- In-depth knowledge of specialized software, such as JMP, and MATHLAB


Salary Range: $75,000 to $100,000 Annually
