Highway Maintenance Operations
LaPrairie Works Inc., a member of LaPrairie Group of Companies, provides highway and bridge maintenance, civil construction, slope stabilization, erosion and drainage control, and environmental remediation services across Western Canada.
Effective August 1st, 2024, LaPrairie Works will be the designated highway maintenance contractor for the Barrhead area and are looking to hire Ferry Operators to join their team at the Klondyke Ferry.
The Ferry Operator will be responsible for performing docking procedures, loading and unloading vehicles, accommodating passenger traffic and general operation and maintenance of the ferry. Ferry Operators are the main point of contact for the public and are responsible for ensuring passenger compliance and regulations.
Safety is of the upmost importance! Ferry Operators will be trained to inspect the ferry for unusual situations, and potential safety hazards. It is expected that all our employees actively participate in the compliance of the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Assurance System.
Required Skills:
• High School Diploma.
• Prior experience as a Ferry Operator or in a similar role is preferred.
• A Class 3 driver’s license preferred. Class 5 license at a minimum.
• Ability to work after-hours if required.
• Good communication skills.
