Today’s scheduled COVID-19 update from the province was postponed and is expected to take place on Thursday, April 7.
However, Alberta Health Services did provide an online update of COVID-19 data for the past week.
The update includes data from March 29 to April 4.

Thirty additional deaths were reported, matching last week’s total. The total number of deaths since the pandemic began to is now 4,104.
The positivity rate based on lab-confirmed PCR tests is up slightly to a daily average of 26.4 per cent, compared to 24.5 per cent this time last week.
The number of people in hospital with COVID-19 rose to 990, an increase of 26 since the last update. Forty-four people are currently in intensive care, compared to 47 last week.
According to a post on Health Minister Jason Copping’s Twitter page, Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. Deena Hinshaw was unavailable Wednesday for the regular outlet. Numerous media outlets have reported that Hinshaw is giving testimony in court today and was unable to give this afternoon’s COVID-19 update.
It is expected that a media availability will take place tomorrow to provide more details on the current COVID-19 situation in Alberta.
