First-ever Seaman Stadium concert features Eagles tribute, local talent

It promises to be One of These Nights in Okotoks as Eagle Eyes soars into town for an evening of epic country rock.

Take It Easy at the first-ever Seaman Stadium concert.

Aug. 31 will be One of These Nights in Okotoks as renowned Eagles tribute band Eagle Eyes soars into town for an evening of epic country rock.

"The tunes that we love so that we all grew up with, listening to and admiring the harmonies and the guitar parts... I just love all the intricate guitar work, and we just love trying to recreate it. It's just a good challenge," said Ray Harvey, guitarist and band leader.

"We're covering pretty much all the generations of Eagles," he continued, adding that there will be a focus on the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame band's music with Joe Walsh after 1975.

"We're hopefully a little more energetic than the current Eagles are," joked Harvey. "We try to make it fun, very danceable and bring a little energy to the Eagles repertoire."

Eagle Eyes, based on Vancouver Island, will be performing in southern Alberta for the first time with this show. The group's many performances across North America have taken it from Anchorage to San Diego.

Also on the lineup are three Okotoks and area acts: longtime Dawgs anthem singer Brettyn Rose, High River singer-songwriter Chase Morgan and traditional rock, country and blues quartet The Back 40.

The concert, co-hosted by the Okotoks Dawgs and the Town of Okotoks, is the first of its kind at Seaman Stadium.

“This concert is such a great opportunity to bring our community together and cap off another amazing Dawgs season with an evening of live entertainment," said Dawgs general manager Tyler Hollick.

Gates open at 5 p.m. and the show is expected to end at 11 p.m.

Tickets are available online at tickets.dawgsbaseball.ca. For more information, contact [email protected] or call the Dawgs ticket office at 403-262-3294.
