A tasty tradition was celebrated in Okotoks.

The Okotoks Art Gallery announced the winners of this year's Gingerbread Station contest on Dec. 12, recognized as National Gingerbread House Day.

This year's Gingerbread Station was the art gallery's seventh edition and its most successful in terms of submissions, with over 20 gingerbread houses on display from Nov. 22 to Dec. 13.

In first place for the adult category was A Book of Treats, an elaborate and delicious-looking recipe book by Alejandra and Isabelle Styles, followed by Enchanted Castle and Okotoks Municipal Centre, two aptly-named gingerbread houses depicting an enchanted castle and the Town of Okotoks Municipal Centre, respectively.

The youth category winners were Santa's Surf Shop, Snowflake Wonderland and Jack Frost vs Elves on the Shelves.

Still on display at the Okotoks Art Gallery are the Spirit of Christmas and Tree of Warmth, which run until Dec. 21.

The Okotoks Art Gallery, located at 53 North Railway St. in Olde Towne, is open Tuesday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. during fall and winter.
