Forgotten spaces throughout Olde Towne Okotoks will come alive with unique local art as the month-long Nooks & Crannies Festival gets underway today.
The sixth annual festival will bring public art installations to downtown Okotoks from July 20 to Aug. 24.
The festival, hosted by the Town of Okotoks, sees artists use recycled materials to bring public art to forgotten corners of downtown. The art is meant to educate and entertain residents and visitors.
This year's festival will also feature a scavenger hunt to help participants find all the artwork scattered throughout downtown while learning more about Okotoks.
There are also a couple of walking tours planned to give participants some behind-the-scenes tidbits and explanations on each work of art.
A walking tour for adults will be held on Friday, Aug. 9 from 6 to 7 p.m., while one geared to families takes place on Saturday, Aug. 10 from 10 to 11 a.m. Pre-registration is recommended at okotoks.ca.
