The High River Gift of Music Society is showcasing Alberta’s finest young talent through an intimate and inspiring evening of music.

The society will be presenting its annual Young Musicians Extraordinaire concert on Friday, April 11 at 7:30 p.m. at the High River United Church.

A celebration of Alberta’s most promising young musicians, this year’s concert features two exceptional talents: pianist Charlotte Giraudeau and cellist Sofia Fakeley, both of whom have already made their mark on the national and international music scene.

At just 17, Giraudeau has won prestigious awards, including first prize at the Franz Liszt Center Piano Competition and Beecham International Piano Competition. She is the overall winner of the 2023 Steinway Piano Competition Canada and an advocate for young musicians through her work with the Capriccio International Young Artists Society and the Back to Bach Foundation.

Fakeley is known for her expressive performances and has excelled in competitions like the Red Deer Symphony Orchestra Concerto Competition. Beyond the stage, she shares music with the community through volunteer performances. Accompanying Fakeley will be Susanne Ruberg-Gordon, a celebrated pianist renowned for her collaborative artistry across North America and Europe.
