Bail hearing set for Okotoks shooting suspect

A 26-year-old man facing a string of charges in connection with a daytime shooting at a Sheep River home in May remains in custody.

The man accused in a daytime shooting at a home in Okotoks this spring will have a bail hearing next month. 

Kaden Clouston, 26, of Okotoks, is facing numerous charges following a May 1 shooting on Sheep River Court that seriously injured a 53-year-old man. 

Following a court appearance at Okotoks Court of Justice on July 5, a bail hearing was set for Aug. 1 in Okotoks to determine if the accused should remain in custody until trial. 

Clouston was taken into custody at the scene shortly after the shooting and has remained behind bars. Charges against Clouston were announced by police on May 3. 

Clouston is charged with: 

  • Discharge a firearm with intent  
  • Aggravated assault  
  • Careless use of a firearm  
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose  
  • Pointing a firearm  
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm (x3)  
  • Possession of a restricted firearm without license (x2)  
  • Reckless discharge of a firearm
