Cold weather to grip Okotoks, bringing snow for New Year's Eve

Temperatures will drop well below seasonal throughout the week, according to the Environment Canada forecast.

There could be snow falling on New Year's Eve in Okotoks, with colder temperatures on the way this week.

Colder weather is on the way in the Okotoks area with snow in the forecast on New Year’s Eve. 

Environment Canada says temperatures will dip below seasonal, with daytime highs in the minus double digits, throughout most of the week. 

Periods of snow are expected overnight on New Year’s Eve with a low of -13 C. 

New Year’s Day will see cloudy skies with a high of -12 C and a low of -16. 

The temperature drops further on Jan. 2 with the forecast calling for a high of -13 C and an overnight low of -20. 

Normal temperatures for this time of year are highs of -5 C and lows of -15.
