An annual holiday tradition in support of local charities will be held in Okotoks next week.
The 17th annual Charity Check Stop will take place on Tuesday, Dec. 10 on Milligan Drive in front of the Okotoks Recreation Centre.
From 2 to 5 p.m., emergency services members will be stopping drivers and conducting a “check stop” where donations will be accepted.
The recipient organizations for this year’s Charity Check Stop will once again be the Okotoks Food Bank, Foothills Regional Victim Services and Rowan House, which all provide vital services to the community and help brighten many people’s lives.
Drivers are asked to provide either monetary or food item donations.
In addition to collecting donations, the Charity Check Stop also raises awareness for the organizations and allows for positive interactions between drivers and local emergency responders.
