Performers of all descriptions will showcase their talents on the streets of downtown Okotoks today.

BuskersFest returns with over 20 live acts spread out along McRae and North Railway streets from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

There will be musicians, dancers and jugglers, even stilt walkers performing in the free street festival.

In previous years, the event was largely decentralized and acts performed wherever they found space, but this year there will be a couple of main stages featuring a rotating lineup.

In addition, there will be ‘Busk Stops’ where artists can perform.

It’s all free, but the Town of Okotoks, which is hosting the festival, says that if you like what you hear or see, show your appreciation with a loonie, toonie or fiver — and don’t forget the applause.

Also taking place in conjunction with BuskersFest is the Artisan Market by MarketSquare, with over 65 local artisans, makers, creators and businesses offering up their wares.

As part of BuskersFest, road closures will be in place from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Elizabeth Street, McRae Street and North Railway Street from Veterans Way to Lineham Avenue.
