The Okotoks Garden Club held its annual plant swap on Saturday, May 25 at the Okotoks Operations Centre.
Local gardeners of all ages and all experience levels exchanged and purchased plants just in time for spring planting.
A portion of proceeds from the event went towards Rowan House Society.
Free gardening advice was available from the club's experts, as well as information on water and environmental issues from the on-site Town of Okotoks conservation educators.
The annual event was similar to past iterations, but some big changes are coming to the club in the near future.
Sue Russell, longtime president of the Okotoks Garden Club, will be marking the end of her eight-year tenure as club president at the end of May.
"We've got new administrations who have stepped forward, which is quite something in a nonprofit group," she said. "Four people stepped forward and said 'we'll do it' so the three of us who were running it right now, we've done it for a long time and we're all going to step back and become regular members, so it's really nice."
