Principal Dorothy Paszkowski said kids are making the most of opportunities to get involved in different activities.

Students are painting washrooms, building and designing improved dwellings, and collecting donations for the food bank.

Starting last year, students set out to paint colourful designs in the school’s washrooms in an effort to make spaces in the school feel brighter and safer.

Several washrooms are being painted currently and two more will be done in January.

Other students recently took part in Skills Exploration Days, designing and building shelters over the lunch hour and getting a look at metal work, carpentry, plumbing and electrical.

Meanwhile, student council is working on a 12 Days of Christmas Food Drive, where each homeroom gets points based on the amount of food and other donations its students collect for the Okotoks Food Bank.
