Grass fire quickly snuffed out in Okotoks

Okotoks Fire & Rescue added that it is exercising additional vigilance with fire calls in light of the ongoing Fort McMurray wildfire.

A grass fire was quickly extinguished in Okotoks this afternoon.

Okotoks Fire & Rescue was alerted to a fire in a natural area near the 100-block of Cimarron Drive at about 3:45 p.m. on May 15.

About 20 minutes later, the fire was reported to be under control and crews were extinguishing hot spots.

Cruisers were on-scene until 4:25 p.m.

The cause of the fire is uncertain.
