A heavy police presence in a north Okotoks neighbourhood this afternoon turned out to be a false alarm.
At least seven RCMP vehicles could be seen at the corner of 32 Street and Crystal Green Way as officers responded to what RCMP had been calling an “unfolding situation.”
However, shortly after 4:30 p.m., emergency vehicles, including EMS and Okotoks Fire and Rescue, could be seen leaving the area.
Access to Crystal Green Way from 32 Street had been blocked and 32 Street had been closed to northbound traffic as police activity centered around a home in the Crystal Green neighbourhood.
Police said earlier that an emergency response team was en route.
It's not known at this time what caused the police response, but RCMP said there is no danger to the public.
