Ann & Sandy Cross Conservation Area offers an abundance of scenic trails on 4,800 acres of rolling foothills.

Trail: Ann & Sandy Cross Conservation Area
 

Difficulty: Beginner to intermediate

 

Distance: From 2.2 km (easy with one hill) to 8.6 km (difficult with five hills).

 

Trailhead: Drive west on Hwy. 22X, just past the Calgary city limits. Turn south at 160 St SW. Drive to a parking lot at the end of the road. Register the number of hikers and vehicle license plates at the kiosk. Walk up the gravel road to the Belvedere House Educational Centre. There are well-signed trailheads west of the building.
 

Description: The Ann & Sandy Cross Conservation Area offers more than 20 km of scenic trails on 4,800 acres of rolling foothills. Hikers will enjoy many wild flowers, deer and an abundance of birds on this picturesque hike. The conservation area is open year-round. No dogs or bikes are allowed. You can view trail maps online. There’s a suggested $5 donation per person.

 

Reminder: Take adequate water, food and clothing in the event of sudden weather changes. Ensure someone knows where you’re going and when you’ll be back in the event you get lost or injured. Hiking alone is not recommended.
