Dr. Andrea Holowka.

Coming into the second year as superintendent of Christ The Redeemer (CTR) Catholic Schools, I am filled with gratitude and joy with the opportunity to lead this incredible division.

CTR continues to celebrate exceptional results, with our overall assurance measures in all categories scoring above the provincial average. These results are nurtured by incredible teachers and staff, who support strong learning environments permeated by our faith.

December allows our schools to experience their faith in extraordinary ways, highlighting the uniqueness of Catholic education for our staff, students and families. During this time, we journey together in our faith, awaiting the coming of Jesus.

Families enter our schools to watch students sing, pray and celebrate the anticipation of Jesus’ arrival. We attend mass together, light Advent wreaths in our classrooms and arrange our nativity scenes with great love and care.

As the holiday season brings a sense of excitement throughout the world, this too is mirrored within our schools. However, in CTR, we experience Advent and Christmas within the lens of our faith. Anticipating the coming of Christ is a time of community, celebration, repentance and preparation.

Our staff reflects God’s love, while teaching students to be witnesses of this love in our schools and society. Most importantly, we thank God for sending His Son to humankind, as a salvific sign of His love for us all. As we prepare our hearts and minds for Christmas, we count our blessings and renew our commitment to our faith.

On behalf of CTR, I would like to thank all staff, students, families and supporters across our seven communities for their dedication, support and commitment to our division. I wish everyone a blessed Advent, Christmas and holiday season filled with hope, love and joy!
