Indigenous hockey players sought for feature film in Alberta

Casting call for coming-of-age hockey comedy 'Smudge the Blades' that will be shooting in Alberta.

Indigenous hockey players between the ages of 16 and 25 are being sought for an Alberta-shot feature film.

Director Cody Lightning, of Hey Viktor! and Marvel’s ECHO fame, is casting for major roles in his next feature film, Smudge the Blades.

The film is billed as a coming-of-age hockey comedy.

Smudge the Blades shoots in Alberta and travel will be provided for out-of-town cast. Non-union and union members alike may apply, with actors well-paid, adhering to Alliance of Canadian Cinema, Television and Radio Artists (ACTRA) rules and rates.

Prospective actors must be Canadian and though acting experience is not required, hockey skills are a must.

Those interested are asked to send name, age (if under 18), phone number, current location and hockey experience along with a photo. The latter should not be in hockey gear, cell phone photos are acceptable with no filters.
