Four indoor pickleball courts are ready at the Foothills Centennial Centre in Okotoks. The Town said pickleball times will vary depending on other uses in the building.

Indoor pickleball courts are ready to go at the Foothills Centennial Centre in Okotoks.

The centre is mainly used for community events, so pickleball times will vary to fit around those events, Town staff said.

Space is limited and pre-registration is recommended at activeokotoks.ca

The pickleball schedule at FCC is subject to change and registration is available up to a week in advance, the Town said.

Players can take part in beginner/novice or intermediate/advanced time slots.

Regular admission rates apply, and payment can be made through activeokotoks.ca or at any of the Town’s recreation facilities.

A reduced-rate pickleball pass is also available.

Although community events take priority, the Town said earlier that it anticipates 80 to 100 hours per month will be dedicated to pickleball play at the FCC.

In August, the Town said it would fund necessary upgrades to the FCC for four indoor pickleball courts, and that the move would help fill time slots at the centre and provide more opportunities to participate in the sport until a dedicated racquet centre can be built.

In October, land on 32 Street East was selected as the site of a future, permanent racquet centre.
