DIDSBURY - A 25-year-old Medicine Hat man is facing dozens of charges following break-ins at Tim Hortons restaurants in Alberta and Saskatchewan, including in High River, police said Tuesday.
The break-ins took place between June and October. In addition to High River, Alberta break-ins took place in Hanna, Brooks, Vermilion, Rocky Mountain House, Strathmore, Drayton Valley, Stettler and Wetaskiwin. Saskatchewan break-ins took place in Maple Creek, Kindersley, Swift Current, Saskatoon and Indian Head.
The RCMP’s Southern Alberta Crime Reduction Unit, assisted by RCMP Regina General Investigation Section, conducted a five-month investigation leading to the arrest of Joshua Elliot Moose, 25, in White City, Saskatchewan on Oct. 31.
A search warrant was executed on the accused’s hotel room, vehicle and apartment in Medicine Hat, resulting in the seizure of cash, tools and firearms, police said in a press release issued Nov. 5.
Moose faces 31 charges in Alberta of break and enter to commit theft, possession of break-in tools and unsafe storage of a firearm.
He also faces seven charges in Saskatchewan for break and enter to commit theft and possession of break-in tools.
Moose has been remanded in custody pending a Nov. 6 appearance in Saskatchewan Court of Justice.
