Knights will once again unsheath their blades and duel in Okotoks.

The Canadian Classic 2024 will be hosted at the Okotoks Ag Society on Saturday, March 9, which will see combatants suit up in heavy armour to fight with real weapons.

The event is hosted by the Historical Armored Combat Sports Association (HACSA) and follows a previous event held in January of last year.

The HACSA is based in Alberta but competes in tournaments throughout the United States and even Mexico.

Combatants range from newcomers to trained fighters with decades of experience in swordplay and armoured combat.

The organization will additionally be hosting a medieval event, including an armoured combat tournament, in High River on June 29 and 30.

Learn more about the HACSA and its upcoming Foothills events on its Facebook page.
