A video of Okotoks Mayor Tanya Thorn’s town update has been made available online.
The video, on shapeourtown.okotoks.ca, shows the presentation Thorn gave during the Mayor’s Town Update that was held at the Viking Rentals Centre in January.
During the presentation, Thorn talked about issues like growth, services and Town finances and said Okotoks is growing more slowly than other municipalities in the Calgary region.
As pressure to grow rises, Thorn said Town council is committed to managing growth in a way that strengthens the community and enhances quality of life.
She also highlighted ways the Town is trying to attract more commercial and industrial development in an effort to diversify the tax base.
Along with the video, the web page features 20 questions that were submitted online by residents, and Thorn said answers to those questions will be posted beginning this week.
