Okotoks RCMP charge two after recovering stolen vehicle

Okotoks RCMP located a stolen vehicle and charged two people with a variety of offences after receiving a report of suspicious activity. 

On Oct. 10 at 2:45 p.m., Okotoks RCMP responded to a call for a suspicious vehicle. A large SUV vehicle was unkept with a sunshade obscuring the view into the vehicle. Two people were located sleeping inside while the vehicle was parked on the side of the roadway. 

Police discovered the SUV had been reported stolen out of Calgary.  

Okotoks RCMP have charged two persons as a result of the investigation. 

Jordan Scott, 34, of Calgary, has been charged with: 

• Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 

• Possession of break-in instruments 

• Possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine 

Scott is scheduled to appear in Alberta Court of Justice in Okotoks on Nov. 8. 

Alyssa Abbott, 28, of Calgary, has been charged with: 

• Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 

• Possession of break-in instruments 

• Fail to comply with probation order 

• Fail to comply with a release order x3 

Abbott is scheduled to appear in Alberta Court of Justice in Okotoks on Oct. 15.
