The Town of Okotoks has started the process to re-open its facilities after the provincial announcement that Stage One of the Alberta Open For Summer Plan will take effect June 1.
The spray park opens at 1 p.m. on June 1. It will continue to operate during regular hours of 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on days above 20 degrees. The Town asks residents to limit their visits to the spray park to one hour to provide more residents with an opportunity to enjoy the park. Alberta Health Guidelines for gatherings must be adhered to, and a minimum of two metres between other households must be followed.
Pickleball and tennis courts remain open. Players must maintain a minimum two-metre physical distance from anyone who is not a member of their household as per Alberta Health Guidelines.
Starting June 1, sports field and ball diamond bookings, outdoor fitness, and outdoor personal training can occur for groups that have a maximum of 10 people, and all participants remain a minimum of two metres apart at all times. For more information on how to book an outdoor facility, please go to https://www.okotoks.ca/your-community/amenities/outdoor-facilities/field-status-reports.
When the Alberta Government issues an announcement and a written health order for Stage Two of the re-opening, the Town will require up to seven days to re-open facilities. This includes swim lessons and aquatic offerings.
The Town thanks residents for their patience and cooperation as staff work out the details of re-opening facilities and amenities; for more information, visit okotoks.ca/COVID19
