A variety of upgrades are planned throughout Olde Towne.

There’s still time to provide feedback on Downtown’s Next Chapter.

The Town of Okotoks has plans for a large-scale construction project in Olde Towne next year and is soliciting input before plans are finalized.

After holding two open houses earlier this month, the Town has an online portal that provides information and solicits feedback on the project. It can be accessed at shapeourtown.okotoks.ca/downtown and is open until Nov. 26.

Construction on Elizabeth, McRae and North Railway streets is set to begin in mid-2025 and will continue into 2026, according to a timeline by the Town of Okotoks. Work will include replacing deep utilities, restoring and improving the surface, making upgrades to public spaces such as parks and outdoor seating areas, and changing the road design to make traffic flow more effectively while adding safety features for pedestrians.

The virtual open house looks at various aspects of the project, including parking concerns, construction impacts, parks and public spaces, and a proposed roundabout at the intersection of North Railway Street and Lineham Avenue by the Okotoks Art Gallery.
