Dirt Reynolds was chosen as the name for Okotoks' newest street sweeper.

Spring street sweeping means there’s a parking ban for more areas of Olde Towne Okotoks on Thursday, April 10.

The parking ban, which will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., is for the following streets:

• Elizabeth Street from Northridge Drive to Mountainview Gate

• Elma Street West from Northridge Drive to Veterans Way

• South Railway Street from Lineham Avenue to Oak Avenue

During the parking ban, all vehicles and obstructions must be removed from the road.  While bans are in effect, members of the public are encouraged to use alternative routes wherever possible to ensure road crews can work efficiently and safely.

All other services (waste collection, emergency responders, Canada Post delivery, etc.) will not be impacted in locations where parking bans have been declared.

The Town is reminding members of the public they may sweep any gravel off sidewalks and driveways onto the roadway prior to the arrival of the street sweeper. Residents are asked to remove ramps or other obstructions from the gutter in front of driveways.

A previously announced parking ban is in effect on Wednesday, April 9 for the following areas:

• Poplar Avenue from Crescent Road to North Railway Street

• North Railway Street from Crystal Ridge Drive to Lineham Avenue

• Elma Street East from Veterans Way to Clark Avenue

• Clark Avenue from McRae Street to Elma Street East
