Tipper Records is marking two special occasions tomorrow (Saturday, April 12).

The McRae Street store is celebrating its one-year anniversary as well as commemorating Record Store Day, a semi-annual event that celebrates the culture of independent record stores all over the world.

Tipper Records started as a tiny store when owner Jaica Tipper was only 17. After some changes and modifications, including moving the store into a mobile bus, it moved to its current location in Olde Towne a year ago.

“It’s been very busy," Tipper said. "We got a lot of new faces that have turned into repeat customers.

“Being on Main Street has been great with all the community events that we love being a part of.”

The store is celebrating its anniversary and Record Store Day with a special sale that's expected to have customers lined out the door.

Rare and special editions of vinyl records and CDs will be available to buy and the store will also be releasing a new drop of used records.

For the sale, the store made a special order of rare vinyls, including albums that have never been pressed before from artists such as Post Malone, Taylor Swift and Lil Uzi Vert.

Doors open at 10 a.m.
