Santa will be the star of the show in High River this evening.
The 39th annual High River Santa Claus Parade will make its way through the streets of downtown on Friday, Dec. 6, part of a fun-filled evening of holiday activities.
The parade is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. near the entrance to George Lane Park, heading north along Macleod Trail and then south along 1 Street SW.
Prior to the parade, entertainment will get going on the Stampede Stage at 5 p.m. while the official Light Up George Lane Park will take place at 6 p.m.
After the parade, Santa will be at the Museum of the Highwood for visits and photos, and there will also be live entertainment, petting zoo, food trucks and a nativity display.
As well, there will be a Winter Market hosted by Inclusion Foothills at the Highwood Memorial Centre and a Gift of Hope Market at High River United Church along with late night shopping downtown.
