The Sheep River Health Trust is rallying in the face of the postal strike to help the community recognize their “Points of Light.”
The trust is holding a “Points of Light” signup day at the Okotoks Health & Wellness Centre and the Oilfields General Hospital on Thursday, Dec. 5 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The Points of Light Campaign by Sheep River Health Trust has been running every December for approximately 20 years. It’s an opportunity to honour someone special in your life.
A “Point of Light” could be someone who has passed, a new baby, a favourite teacher, anyone who has had an impact on your life. People donate any amount they wish to recognize their “Points of Light.”
In January, all names are published in the Western Wheel to pay tribute.
Volunteers will be available in the lobbies to help people fill out the “Point of Light” cards that would normally be mailed to the Sheep River Health Trust. Donations can be made by debit, credit or cheque. Tax receipts will be emailed to those donating $20 or more.
The Sheep River Health Trust is dedicated to supporting the provision of comprehensive health services in the Foothills area. The Sheep River Health Trust aims to promote health and well-being throughout our local communities by working in partnership with the residents of the area.
The trust is a registered charitable organization that raises funds to maintain and enable health services and wellness programs for the residents of Longview, Diamond Valley, Millarville, DeWinton, Okotoks and the surrounding rural area.
