The Okotoks & District Chamber of Commerce's Trade & Lifestyle Show at the Okotoks Recreation Centre this weekend will be filled with local flavour.
The April 13-14 show is being put on in partnership with the Okotoks Market Square Spring Fling Market, putting more than 150 vendors under one roof the event.
Dawn LeMaistre, the chamber’s executive director, said almost 90 vendors will take part in the Trade & Lifestyle Show, with about 70 more on the market side.
The trade show is smaller than it has been in the past, but that puts the focus on local businesses, LeMaistre said.
“We tried to keep it as local as possible this year,” she said.
The businesses and services that will be represented range from tradespeople to utility providers, realtors to mortgage brokers,. Homebuilder SEED Homes will have a model of a tiny home for visitors to see, she said.
Service clubs like the Elks, Rotary and Kinsmen will also take part to raise awareness of their various projects and bolster their volunteer numbers.
“The Rotary will come to promote the Soapbox Derby,” she said. “We have Kinsmen coming to promote the Show and Shine.”
LeMaistre said the local UCP and NDP constituency associations will both be at the event.
Okotoks Fire & Rescue and Okotoks Municipal Enforcement will also be on hand with a lot of their equipment, she said.
Tickets are $5 and kids 12 and under are free. Admission is good for the trade show and market.
The event goes from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday. Food trucks will be set up on the north side of the recreation centre.
