Kevin Koe comes out of the hack during the 2023 ATB Okotoks Classic.

The Okotoks curling calendar is approaching its high profile kick-off event.

The ATB Okotoks Classic takes over the Okotoks Curling Club from Sept. 19-22 featuring top Canadian teams from Kevin Koe and Brad Jacobs to Mike McEwen.

Mainstays at the Okotoks Classic, Team Koe, skipped by a two-time world and four-time Canadian champion, won the 2021 iteration of the ATB Okotoks Classic.

The new-look Team Brad Jacobs will also feature in Okotoks. Jacobs is the new skip for the team joining the trio of Marc Kennedy, Brett Gallant and Ben Hebert. The team, which was previously headed up by Brendan Bottcher, has enjoyed terrific success including back-to-back titles at the Okotoks event.

Saskatchewan’s Team McEwen, skipped by longtime national contender Mike McEwen, is in the field along with a number of top Alberta teams skipped by the likes of Ryan Jacques, Kenan Wipf, Cole Adams and Johnson Tao.

Okotokian James Ballance and Jacob Libbus, out of Diamond Valley, will be skipping their rinks and giving Foothills curling fans hometown teams to support at the OCC. A total of 24 teams are part of the four-day competition.

The Okotoks Curling Club will be live-streaming the event on its YouTube page.
