Foothills Falcons, HTA Knights put on entertaining double-header

Rivalry night did not disappoint at Foothills Composite.

The Foothills Falcons and Holy Trinity Academy Knights put on another high school basketball clinic on Tuesday, Feb. 13 with each school picking up a win in a double-header featuring the senior girls and senior boys teams.

The Falcons girls, the fourth-ranked team at the 4A level in the province, won the opening contest by a 69-50 score.

In the back-end of the double-header, the Knights secured a 72-71 victory that went down to the final possession. Bowen Gottselig scored the winning basket for the Knights who secured the win on a last-second blocked shot from guard Lucas Barlow.

The two Okotoks schools will likely next face one another at the 4A South Central Zone championships, held early next month.
