The Holy Trinity Academy Knights continue to bowl over the competition in tournament play this season with the senior girls team taking home its third title in four competitions with a golden trip to the Brooks Composite Bufffalos tournament on Jan. 10-11.

HTA downed the Oilfields Drillers 77-36 in the final.

Paige Vanegmond was the player of the game with 13 points with Paige McNichol contributing 12 rebounds and the Murray sisters, Anna and Natalie, posting 14- and 12-point performances. Maddie Maksymich had seven points and five assists in the final.

"They (the sisters) have a really neat rhythm together and a bit of a sixth sense for each other on the floor," said HTA coach Andrew Gustafson. "As well Maddie grew up in Diamond Valley, did elementary school and junior with just about all the Oilfields team. And most of them started playing together years ago in the little Bandits program, which her parents started. So playing Oilfields was a really fun one for Maddie."

In the semifinal, HTA knocked off Medicine Hat's McCoy by a 79-31 score.

Sierra Dudar was the player of the game, Vanegmond had a team-high 18 points with Kateri Krueger posting 14 points and 13 rebounds and Natalie and Anna Murray adding 11 and 10, respectively.

In the opener, HTA grounded the Springbank Phoenix by a 60-44 margin. Krueger was player of the game in a dominant defensive performance with 17 rebounds with Anna Murray posting 14 point and five rebounds.
