The Okotoks-based Raiders are marching on with the AFHL playoffs heating up this week.
The Rocky Mountain Raiders swept the opening round of the Alberta Female Hockey League U15 AA postseason in two games over the Calgary Fire Black.
Tess Mcgee and Ella Simard scored in the 2-1 win in Game 1 with Abby Szilagyi making 39 saves in the series opener.
In Game 2, Simard, Paige Meyer and Gracie Dengler lit the lamp in the 3-1 decisive victory with Szilagyi again backstopping the team with a 33-save effort.
Rocky Mountain takes on the Airdrie Lightning in the best-of-three round two, starting March 8 on the road with Game 2 on March 9, a 6:30 p.m. puck drop at Okotoks Centennial Arenas Green.
The Raiders postseason takes off on three more fronts this weekend.
In the U18 AA ranks, Rocky Mountain takes on the Airdrie Lightning in the best-of-three opening round playoff series. Game 1 is March 8, a 6 p.m. start at the Scott Seaman Sports Rink.
The Raiders are the provincial hosts at the end of the month with the tournament held at the Okotoks Centennial Arenas.
The U18 AA Raiders are paired with the Calgary Fire in a two-game provincial qualifier series with both matches at the Father David Bauer Arena on March 9 and 10.
The U13 AA Raiders clash with the Airdrie Lightning in a best-of-three set with Game 2 of the series on March 9 at 1:45 p.m. at Okotoks Centennial Arenas Gold.
