Olivier Ciarlo and the Okotoks Oilers will not be in action on Saturday, Nov. 23 with the BCHL road game against the Blackfalds Bulldogs postponed due to the winter weather and poor road conditions.

Junior hockey is off the ice for Okotoks teams tonight.

The Okotoks Oilers and Carstar Okotoks Bisons have seen their Saturday, Nov. 23 games cancelled due to the inclement winter weather hitting southern Alberta.

The Bisons were scheduled to host the Didsbury-based Mountainview Colts in Heritage Junior Hockey League action at the Murray Arena. Okotoks won in dominant fashion Friday in Cochrane by a 7-1 score.

Zephyr Laplante paced the offence with two goals and four points with Sam Callahan, Easton Dean, Adam Kirkpatrick and Avery Greig finding the back of the net.

The Bisons are on the road next weekend with games in High River and Coaldale.

The Oilers, fresh off a thrilling 3-2 overtime win over the Trail Smoke Eaters Friday at the Viking Rentals Centre, were slated to travel to Blackfalds Saturday night for their first meeting of the season.

That will have to wait until next Friday as Okotoks’ next home date has the Bulldogs on the docket on Nov. 29.

Both postponed games will be rescheduled at a later date.
