The Jr. B lacrosse season in Okotoks has come to a close via a first round playoff exit.

The Okotoks Jr. B Marauders were downed in two games in the best-of-three Rocky Mountain Lacrosse League opening round playoff series by the rival Calgary Mountaineers following two low scoring contests in a three-day span.

Okotoks, the second seed in the South, was edged 10-9 in the series opener at the Murray Arena on July 18.

The Mounties scored six third period goals to wrestle momentum away from the hosts. Drew Dunbar had a team-high four goals and seven points for Okotoks with Jacob Harlow contributing one goal and six assists, Frank Gallup tallying two goals and four points with Max Pocherewny and Lyric Kleutsch authoring the other markers.

Calgary then completed the sweep at the Stu Peppard Arena on July 20 in a 7-4 stalemate.

Pocherewny, Kleutsch, Dunbar and Lucas Harlow provided the offence for Okotoks.

Five members of the Marauders graduated from the program following the loss, including a pair of stalwarts on the offensive gate in Pocherewny and Jacob Harlow, along with netminder Carter Webber, second-year Marauder Riley Zeer and Cole Kirker, who played his first and only season in Okotoks in 2024.

Jacob Harlow, the captain during the 2024 campaign, posted 80 goals and 193 points over three seasons with the Marauders. Pocherewny had 98 goals and 189 points in 56 games from 2022-24.

The Mountaineers move on to play the top-seed Calgary Shamrocks in the RMLL Jr. B Tier I South Division Final.
