The Okotoks Oilers are coming home with a season-best result.

Okotoks bested the Coastal Conference leading Coquitlam Express by a 6-2 score Friday night in the Lower Mainland to cap off a three games in four days stretch in southwestern B.C. on the heels of the BCHL Showcase.

Six forwards lit the lamp for the visiting Oilers with rookie forwards Joey Meredith and Michael Kowalski notching a goal and an assist. Coy Pighin, Jamie Hikida, Otto Hanson and Brett Wilson added the other tallies.

Olivier Ciarlo made 29 saves for his third win of the campaign.

Earlier in the week, Okotoks was downed 6-2 by the Penticton Vees and blanked 4-0 by the Langley Rivermen as part of the BCHL Showcase held in neighbouring Abbotsford and Coquitlam.

Following a day off on Saturday, Okotoks is right back on the ice for a Sunday afternoon clash.

The Oilers (3-7) and Vernon Vipers (2-6-1) will meet for the first time on Oct. 20 at 4:20 p.m. at the Viking Rentals Centre.

Okotoks is one point up on Vernon in the Interior Conference standings.
