January 17, 1972 - August 9, 2022
It is with great sadness that we announce the
passing of Chantal Lavoie on August 9th, 2022
after a short and hard battle against a sudden
brain tumor diagnosis.
She will be dearly missed by her beloved
partner, Edward, her daughter Emmanuelle
(Daniel), her two grandchildren, Jaxson and
Zackary, her step children Brad and Cassie, her
parents, Serge (Linda), Claudette (Michel), her
brothers and sisters-in-law, Joé (Marie-Ève),
Dave (Audrey), Frédérique, and many more
nephews, nieces, uncles, aunts, cousins and
so many friends. She was predeceased by her
brother, Daniel.
Chantal was born in, La Malbaie, Quebec where
she lived a busy life working in finance, raising
her daughter and living life at the fullest as she
did so well. In 2005, she made the big move out
west and started her new life in Turner Valley.
Tackling every challenge life threw at her,
like learning English, making new friends or
adapting to a new culture, she did it all so well
and in her own very French way that all who
knew her would understand. Chantal quickly
became a big part of this community. She had
so many great life stories she was often told
she could easily write a bestseller. She was
an exceptional mother, the best grandmother,
a loving partner, a fun and loyal friend, a
successful business woman,a beautiful musical
spirit, an adventurous and caring world traveler,
a freedom fighter and a personality that just
shone everywhere she went. She will always be
in our thoughts and forever in our hearts.
There will be an interment ceremony held on
Tuesday, August 30th, 2022 at 2:00 PM in Black
Diamond cemetery with a celebration of life
following afterwards. Subsequent to the events being
held in Alberta, there will be a funeral service at
a later date held in her hometown in Quebec.
