Well it was a good Christmas and I sure hope you agree. The weather improved and the highways were in pretty good shape to get around. I was busy doing some last minute shopping on the 24th and must say I was impressed with the amount of people in town doing the same thing. If you look hard enough I don't think you will find anything that we don't have right here at home. I ate and drank way too much but I have a New Year’s resolution that I will use the treadmill everyday in 2011. Can you imagine how good I am going to look. Problem is the first is almost here and I just don't know if I will be in the mood on January 1st. Have to do it though, it's either that or back to the store for the next size.

Have you made plans for New Years? There are some good ideas in the Community section this week and I am sure most restauants will have a special menu. The police will be out watching us, so please make sure you have a designated driver if you are drinking. I see a special New Year’s celebration will be held at the Community Centre. It will be a dry party with proceeds going to Rowan House and food bank. Come and dance the night away.

It looks like Western Financial Group will be sold to Desjardins Financial Group out of Quebec. We are told the head office in the west will continue out of High River. The news just before Christmas will have surprised hundreds of employees and investors in the prairies. It appears the deal will help the company grow as Desjardins has over $175 billion in assets.

TRAFFIC CAMERA
My husband was driving when he saw the flash of a traffic camera.
He figured that his picture had been taken for exceeding the limit even though he knew that he was not speeding.
Just to be sure, he went around the block and passed the same spot, driving even more slowly, but again the camera flashed.
Now he began to think that this was quite funny, so he drove even slower as he passed the area once more, but the traffic camera again flashed. He tried a fourth and fifth time with the same results and was now laughing as the camera flashed while he rolled past at a snail's pace.
Two weeks later, he got five tickets in the mail for driving without a seat belt.
You can't fix stupid.
