LETTER: Columnist doesn’t offer any solutions to country’s ills

According to Chris Nelson, the federal government and its Crown corporations are seemingly at fault for everything.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is a favourite target of columnist Chris Nelson.

Dear Editor,

Re: Longer mortgages mean buyers are paying even more interest, Oct. 30

I’m curious why the Western Wheel continues to give columnists like Chris Nelson a platform. His latest piece begins with a critique of the Liberal finance minister and her policies, only to continue with an apparent dislike for the prime minister. He criticizes the Bank of Canada’s decisions and then shifts blame to immigration policies for the affordability crisis.

According to Nelson, the government and its Crown corporations are seemingly at fault for everything.

What’s most frustrating, however, is the lack of any constructive solutions. Not one of the 700+ words is spent on offering even the smallest idea for addressing any of these issues — only complaints and blame.

This one-sided approach isn’t helpful, and frankly, it’s exhausting.
