FOOTHILLS COUNTY NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING Proposed Foothills Landing Area Structure Plan

Foothills County is holding a public hearing regarding an application proposing the adoption of the Foothills Landing Area Structure Plan. The application file(s) is available for viewing at the Foothills County Administration Office during regular business hours or on the County’s website at www.foothillscountyab.ca/development/ upcoming-hearings-council. Along with the application file(s), a detailed staff report outlining the particulars of the application(s) will be made available one week prior to the scheduled public hearing date. The public’s input is an important part of Council’s decision-making process. At the hearing, Council will hear from the applicant(s), from any person who claims to be affected by the proposal or wishes to make representation. A five-minute time limit has been imposed on submissions and presentations to Council. Permission for additional time may be requested and may be granted at the discretion of the Chair. Due to the scope of this application, we anticipate that the public hearing may need to be conducted over a number of half day sessions. • Registered participants will be assigned to one of the half day sessions, during which they will have an opportunity to attend the public hearing and provide ... their comments to Council, either in person or by electronic means; • The number of half day sessions will be determined based on the number of parties who have registered to participate; • Seating in Council Chambers will only be available to you during your assigned session; however, all sessions will be live streamed on the County’s YouTube ... channel and you are encouraged to watch the livestream on days where you are not registered to present. The livestream will be available for public viewing in a ... separate meeting room at the Foothills County Administration building or in the comfort of your own home or office. To participate in the public hearing, you must register by email to [email protected]. Please note that the deadline for registration for the hearing is indicated below. Once registered, an email with detailed instructions will be sent to you within 48 hours of the scheduled public hearing date and time. Registration must include the following information: • Date and Time of the public hearing you are attending • How you will attend the public hearing (in-person, by video conference, or by telephone/conference call) • Name (you must use the same spelling when registering and when signing in) • Email Address • Mailing Address (in order to receive written notice of the decision) • Phone number (for contact purposes in case there are technical difficulties during the hearing) • Your purpose for attending (e.g., applicant, agent, neighbouring landowner in support or opposition to the application, etc.) If you are unable to participate in person or electronically, you may submit a letter in advance of the public hearing. The deadline to submit a letter is indicated below. Letters received after the deadline may not be considered by Council. Written requests to adjourn or reschedule a public hearing may be submitted for Council’s consideration, no less than two days before the scheduled hearing, and must be accompanied by the required $500.00 fee. Written submissions and requests for adjournment must be submitted by one of the following methods. NE/SE/SW 20-21-29 W4M & SE/NE 19-21-29 W4M (SUBJECT LANDS) Foothills County has received an application from Agents B&A Studios, on behalf of Carefree Lifestyle Solutions Inc. and the Carefree Group, for the consideration of the adoption of the Foothills Landing Area Structure Plan (ASP). The ASP provides a planning framework for the future development of a master planned community located on lands southeast of the Hamlet of DeWinton approximately 11km south of the City of Calgary at the junction of Highways 2 and 2A. The ASP lays out a future land use concept, transportation concept, piped water and wastewater servicing concept, stormwater management concept and implementation strategy for the approximately 471.51 acre (190.72 hectare) Plan Area. The ASP contemplates the development of approximately 2,100 residential units to accommodate various housing types, commercial development, open spaces, municipal, school and environmental reserves. As shown on the location map, the subject lands (shaded in black and grey) are located in Council Division 5.
