Sir Winston Churchill Provincial Park
Sir Winston Churchill Provincial Park is located 5 kilometres from the east side of Lac La Biche. It is a year-round location that features everything from a beach and lake watersports to an Old Growth Forest filled with trails. With a reservation fee of $12 and for $38/night, you can enjoy a powered site. The campsites are nested in the forest, for those that like being at one with nature. Things to do on site (depending on the season and COVID regulations) include hiking, interactive wildlife displays, fishing, and of course, just kicking back around the campfire and enjoying some much deserved downtime.
Dinosaur Provincial Park
Drumheller is not the only place to get your fill of dinosaur history. Dinosaur Provincial Park, 48 kilometres northeast of Brooks (and two hours from Drumheller) is one of the biggest dinosaur fossil locales in the world. More than 50 dinosaur fossils have been discovered on site, and more than 500 specimens from here are exhibited around the world. Fossils include plant life as well as dinosaurs. Although it currently closed due to COVID, the visitor center on site has interactive exhibits and a small theatre. It also functions as a summer field station for the Royal Tyrell Museum.

Red Lodge Provincial Park is ideal for the campers that want to commune with nature but be close enough to easily run to town for urban amenities. On site you have a beautiful river, fishing, trees, and geocaching. When the season and COVID regulations allow, you can choose among three Family Discovery Backpacks (insect safari, birdwatching, astronomy) to enhance your outdoor time. The backpacks have a small rental fee. A short drive away is the town of Bowden, where you’ll find dining, shopping, golf and regional attractions like a sunflower maze. As for the campground, depending on the loop you rent in, some sites are close together, and some are on the small size. Before you book be sure to consult the map and a park representative to ensure you have a site that can fit your RV, or side-by-side sites if you are travelling with more than one RV (such as a family reunion).
