The sun shines over the Sheep River in Okotoks.

The forecast was right about a mid-week snowfall, so let’s hope it’s also correct about a rather balmy weekend and beyond.

After a couple of days where temperatures struggled to reach 0C, Environment Canada is calling for a significant warm up in Okotoks and surrounding area.

Today is expected to be a typical early spring day with a high of 8C under mainly sunny skies, but it will warm considerably starting tomorrow.

Saturday’s high is forecast to be 16C and Sunday is even warmer at 18C.

Above normal temperatures are expected to continue into next week with a high of 17C on Monday, 13C on Tuesday and Wednesday, and 15C next Thursday.
