There are plans to add a multi-sport field, natural playground and picnic shelter to Seaman Sports Park.

The Northwest Foothills Recreation Board has launched an ambitious fundraising campaign for amenities in the Millarville area.

The board is raising funds for a multi-sport field as well as other amenities in the Seaman Sports Park.

The multi-sport field has a fundraising goal of $150,000, while park improvements, which include a natural playground and picnic shelter, require $100,000.

The board is calling on those in the community to donate to support the planned projects. Tax receipts are available for donations over $100.

Seaman Sports Park is located on 30 acres directly south of Highway 549, just east of the Highway 22 intersection and adjacent to the Millarville Racetrack grounds.

The Northwest Foothills Recreation Board was founded in 2010 to explore and develop recreation projects within the Millarville, Priddis, Red Deer Lake and DeWinton areas of Foothills County. The board is a committee of Foothills County council.
