The Millarville Stockland 4-H Club had our monthly meeting on Dec. 11 at the Millarville Racetrack. We talked about what we were doing for the Christmas party and then we took a break to go multi-judging.

We were judging feed scoops this month. All the beef kids handed in our record books to our beef leader for marking. At the end of the meeting someone who had the most complete record book got a $25 gift card. The person who won this meeting was Pyper Stanley.

Then we had our Christmas party on Dec. 14 in Okotoks. We all went bowling together then we stopped for a bit to do a ‘Secret Santa’ gift exchange. Overall, it was a fun experience to do as a club.

We packed hampers for the Adopt-a-Family program on Dec. 13 at the Red Deer Lake Hall with the Foothills District, and then we went to decorate cookies with seniors at the Rising Sun Long Term Care on Dec. 15.

In the new year we have lots of interesting things planned, like a beef farm tour, a hands-on clinic where we get to bring our animals and another club workshop, all in the month of January. It should be an exciting time.
